Long-term residents are the heartbeat of our Bolinas and Stinson Beach communities. But many people are being displaced for short-term rentals and cannot afford the astronomical prices houses now fetch.
The BCLT exists to house cherished and essential members of our community. Bolinas and Stinson's first responders, educators, and so many others need stable homes in town. As a community land trust, the BCLT takes land and housing off the speculative real estate market to serve the community in perpetuity.
We envision a Bolinas with sufficient affordable housing, a robust school, and a vibrant community full of life and opportunity.
In 2017, the BCLT had a staff of two, operating two properties with 15 residential spaces serving 21 tenants. Today, we are a staff of seven, operating seven properties with 27 residential units and one emergency RV campground, offering security and dependability to 105 tenants.
With three other projects in various stages of development, our dedication to supporting the need for stability and affordability in Bolinas is unrelenting.
We work to create sustainable, low-impact housing that maintains the character and diversity of our town.
Improving Bolinas through community projects and local initiatives.
Providing services and housing for both long-time residents and those new to town.
Your support is critical. As a non-profit organization, we rely on donations from our community to meet the growing needs of our communities.
