These local organizations provide assistance in finding affordable housing.

REGIONAL HOUSING RESOURCES
Marin County Zoning and Property Information – A parcel/address look-up tool with each property’s zoning district and any regulations about how that property can be used and developed.

Community Action Marin (415-526-7500) – CAM is the county’s official antipoverty agency, with a mandate of eliminating the causes and consequences of poverty in Marin County.  Their programs focus on children’s services, mental health, safety net, and economic development.

Community Land Trust Association of West Marin (CLAM) (415-663-1005) – Based in Pt. Reyes Station, CLAM is a nonprofit organization created to acquire and hold land for the benefit of the community and its future generations.  As a community land trust, CLAM holds land and housing in trust for the community in perpetuity while creating housing that working people can afford. Since its founding in 2001 by local residents, CLAM has provided 9 affordable homes and assisted two families to purchase a tenants-in-common property.

West Marin Community Services (415-663-8361) – West Marin Community Services’s mission is to support programs and services that ensure the well-being of individuals and families in West Marin.  Core programs include a Food pantry, Latino engagement, Emergency assistance and case management, Information, translation, workshops & referrals, and Child care and college scholarships.

Marin Housing (415-491-2525) – Also known as The Housing Authority of the County of Marin, Marin Housing is a public corporation authorized to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for low and moderate income people.  They are empowered to undertake all activities necessary to accomplish this public purpose, including acquiring property, developing housing, issuing tax-exempt bonds, entering into mortgages, trust indentures, leases, condemning property, borrowing money, accepting grants, and managing property.  Marin Housing also coordinates Section 8 housing in Marin County and provides a Housing Assist-line at 415-491-2345.
