Septic Program
Through the Bolinas Pilot Septic Program, BCLT is proudly upholding our community values of environmental stewardship, creativity, and self-reliance. The innovative program, launched in October 2021, provides material support to homeowners to upgrade existing failing and/or unpermitted septic systems on the Gridded Mesa in Bolinas and will allow them to add ADUs (second units) as discussed in the Gridded Mesa Plan. This program is a model that other communities in West Marin are looking at how to replicate.
Habitat Homeownership
“Aspen Lots” has now become 345 Aspen Rd. The project will be developed in much the same way as 530 and 534 Overlook. BCLT will partner with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco (Habitat GSF) to offer two three-bedroom homes to the community as TIC (tenancy in common) homeownership opportunities via lottery to qualified applicants in 2024.
Tacherra Ranch Project
The Tacherra Ranch Project is an ongoing project dedicated to providing safe and adequate housing for members of the Bolinas community. We are currently in the first phase of the project: the creation of an emergency RV Park to house 60 residents serves as a temporary solution while longterm homes are being built.
31 Wharf Road
Thanks to the tireless commitment and work of our supporters, board, and staff we are poised to break ground on the 31 Wharf Project in Spring 2023. Completing this complex multi-stakeholder project by September 2024 will give the Bolinas community eight new residential units, and one new commercial space.
